HealthBase reads your workout history, including activity type, duration, calories burned, and heart rate samples. This data is used to display your workout list and detail views. It is never transmitted off your device.
This policy describes what data the app accesses and why. It was last updated on May 10, 2026.
Data HealthBase Accesses
For workouts that include a GPS route, HealthBase reads the recorded coordinates to draw maps, compute elevation profiles, and calculate speed. Route coordinates are also used to determine the city and region where a workout took place, using Apple's on-device reverse geocoding. No coordinates are sent to third-party servers.
HealthBase reads your daily step count to display the 7-day steps chart on the Stats screen and to show steps-per-minute data on individual workouts.
If you choose to connect Strava, HealthBase communicates directly with the Strava API using API credentials you supply. No Strava data passes through any intermediary server operated by HealthBase. The app stores your Strava access and refresh tokens in the iOS Keychain on your device. You can disconnect Strava at any time from Settings.
The camera is used only when you scan a barcode in the Nutrition screen to look up food information. Camera access is requested at the moment you initiate a scan and is not used for any other purpose.
Food entries you log are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. This data is not shared or transmitted anywhere. If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, this data may be included in your personal iCloud backup under Apple's standard backup policies.
